Roles & Responsibilities:
Core responsibilities
- Hardware support: Diagnose and fix hardware issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices like printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Software support: Install, configure, and update operating systems (Windows, macOS, etc.) and software applications (e.g., Microsoft 365). This includes troubleshooting software problems and resolving application errors.
- Network troubleshooting: Resolve local network and connectivity problems, such as issues with Wi-Fi access or connecting to a shared network drive.
- User support: Serve as the first and second line of support for employees, addressing IT problems through a ticketing system, in-person visits, or remote access.
- Onboarding and offboarding: Set up and deploy hardware and software for new employees. Similarly, collect and process equipment for departing staff.
- Inventory management: Maintain a detailed and accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
- System maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance, install patches, and apply security updates to ensure all systems are running optimally and securely.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including job reports, troubleshooting guides, and process instructions.
