Position Title: Welder / Fabricator
Qualification Level: NSDA National Skills Certificate – Level 1 (Welding) + IsDB-BISEW Diploma in Welding & Fabrication.
Employment Type: Full‑time / Contract


key responsibilities:

• Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G positions

• Execute pipe welding in 6G position using electric arc

• Carry out MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding for normal plate and pipe applications

• Apply gas welding and brazing techniques as required

• Perform oxy‑acetylene cutting and plasma cutting

• Execute steel fabrication and pipe fitting following technical drawings

• Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols

• Use basic mathematical concepts to calculate dimensions, angles, and material requirements

• Maintain proper use of PPE (helmet, gloves, apron, safety shoes)

• Follow housekeeping procedures – clean work area, store tools properly, dispose of welding waste safely

• Safely operate hand tools (hammers, clamps, chipping hammers) and power tools (grinders, drills, magnetic drills)

• Use measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, steel rule, square, micrometer) for precision work

• Produce quality weld beads and padding using SMAW

• Work within the light engineering sector (workshops, small fabrication units, construction sites)

• Follow supervisor instructions and maintain discipline

  • NSDA Level‑1 Certificate (Welding)

  • IsDB‑BISEW Diploma in Welding & Fabrication

  • Skilled in SMAW, MIG, TIG, gas welding & brazing

  • Proficient in 1G–4G (plate) and 6G (pipe) positions

  • Experienced in oxy‑acetylene/plasma cutting, steel fabrication & pipe fitting
