The Business Development and Partnerships teams at Shopee are dynamic and energetic. The teams are always looking to acquire business opportunities to drive Shopee to be the No. 1 e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The aim of the Business Development and Partnership teams is to provide Shopee’s buyers with a wide variety of product listings at the best prices.
About the Team:
As part of this role, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing budgets and forecasts, conducting financial modelling, and providing valuable insights to aid in strategic business decision-making. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the overall success of the company by leveraging your expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and a deep understanding of financial concepts and principles.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with various departments in commercial and operations to gather financial data, validate assumptions, and identify areas of improvement.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and analyze key business metrics within the Retail & Fulfillment P&L such as revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Prepare insightful and accurate financial reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate financial performance and trends.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial health of the organization and identify potential risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in consulting, investments, corporate finance, e-commerce, or start-up environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex financial data.
- Proficient in financial modelling and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
