What The Role Is

Be part of the URA Information Systems, Application Department, where you will collaborate closely with business groups to translate business rules into algorithms—designed, developed, and maintained as production-grade code—to drive utility optimisation. Your work will support work process transformation and enhance service delivery for our external customers.

As a Systems Analyst (Geospatial Engineer), you will provide IT advisory, conduct feasibility assessments, and deliver ongoing support to continuously enhance our IT systems, ensuring they remain relevant and capable of meeting evolving business needs. You will also explore new digital technologies and innovations by collaborating with key industry players, contributing to the strategic deployment of ICT across URA.

What You Will Be Working On

Join our team to design and develop algorithms that optimise utilities and urban underground infrastructure. You’ll work closely with users to translate business rules into algorithms that deconflict and optimise underground utility. This fast-paced, cutting-edge role lets you deliver solutions that make a tangible impact on safe and efficient city development.

• Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work closely with product managers and key stakeholders to provide technical guidance, conduct feasibility assessments and translate business rules into algorithms.
  
  
• Designing, Developing and Testing of utility optimisation algorithm: Partner with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver end-to-end digital solutions optimized for performance, quality, security compliant, and technical requirements.
  
  
• Technical Collaboration Across Engineering Team: Work closely with product managers and software engineers to deploy and integrate algorithm outputs into GIS web-based applications, ensuring effective adoption of the solution and enhancing service delivery for our external customers.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in GIS development.
  
  
• Experience with:
  
  

 Python

 ArcGIS technologies – ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS API for Python

 Geoprocessing tools using ArcPy library

 3D formats – I3S, glTF, glb

 Database design and technologies – MS SQL

 Version Control Systems – Git

• Proficient in algorithms, optimisations, and data structures, with hands-on experience coding, testing, and delivering robust software solutions using modern languages, frameworks, and tools.
  
  
• Passionate about building digital platforms, with experience in Agile development practices.
  
  
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  
  
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
  
  
• Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team environment.
