Key Responsibilities
Buying & Merchandising
- Support and/or manage product sourcing, selection, and assortment planning
- Execute and monitor pricing, promotions, and SKU setup
- Analyze sales performance, stock levels, and product trends
- Ensure consistency in merchandising standards across all stores
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Liaise with suppliers on product availability, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Support or lead negotiations on pricing, rebates, and trading terms
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and identify new sourcing opportunities
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve operational issues
Market Analysis & Business Insights
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and pricing comparisons
- Track consumer trends and buying behavior to support decision-making
- Recommend improvements to product assortment and pricing strategies
New Store Opening & Expansion
- Support and/or lead product planning for new store openings
- Coordinate ordering, delivery, and setup to ensure store readiness
- Assist in merchandising setup during store launches
- Monitor post-opening performance and optimize product mix
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, marketing, and supply chain teams
- Support promotional campaigns, product launches, and inventory planning
- Ensure smooth execution across all branches
Team & Process Support (for Assistant Manager level)
- Guide and mentor junior buyers or executives
- Support category planning and performance management
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency
Job Requirements
For Buyer Executive
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Retail, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or retail operations
- Experience in supermarket or FMCG industry is an advantage
- Good communication, coordination, and analytical skills
For Senior Executive, Buyer
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Retail, Supply Chain, or related field
- 4–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in retail/FMCG
- Strong experience in category management and supplier negotiation
- Good leadership and stakeholder management skills
General Requirements
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-branch retail environment
- Willingness to travel when required
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
