About the Role

Kuala Lumpur is the host of KPMG Delivery Network’s ASPAC Compliance Delivery Centre (ACDC), which delivers Indirect Tax compliance services across the ASPAC region.


Our team is culturally diverse, bringing together professionals from different backgrounds and expertise. ACDC provides end-to-end compliance support powered by advanced technology, automation, and robust processes.


This is an opportunity to grow your Indirect Tax expertise regionally while working alongside experienced professionals across the firm.


Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee Indirect Tax compliance in the ASPAC region
  • Build strong client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery
  • Drive advisory opportunities from the client base to local member firms
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members
  • Manage the transition of new clients into ACDC
  • Monitor and approve client billing
  • Monitor financial performance of the team with ACDC Lead as the control point
  • Participate in client meetings to follow up on milestones and improve project efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk management procedures
  • Identify and lead ad hoc projects, including AI-driven automation and process transformation initiatives
  • Leverage technology to manage VAT/WHT/RECON delivery and optimise process effectiveness
  • Work closely with the ASPAC Lead team to ensure a high-quality client experience


Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a tax-related function with strong exposure to VAT/WHT/RECON
  • Strong written and spoken English is required
  • Expert knowledge of Value Added Tax (VAT)
  • Experience in VAT within the ASPAC region is an advantage
  • Ability to identify issues and clearly articulate them to clients
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Experience in VAT/WHT/RECON compliance process improvement is an advantage
  • Curiosity and passion to identify solutions to client needs
  • Experience in driving process improvement initiatives through AI and automation is an advantage
