Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Automation Engineer located in Penang, Malaysia. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation systems. Daily tasks include troubleshooting automation system issues, process control, and working with electrical engineering and robotics. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and performance optimization.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Able to work on-site in Penang, Malaysia and travel locally and overseas to customers site for setup
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field
• Experience in the semiconductor, medical, automotive, or consumer electronics sectors is a plus

 Requirements

• PLC Programming : Proven experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Keyence, Beckhoff, and/or comparable PLC platforms
• Robotics Integration Skills: Hands-on knowledge of industrial robotics systems (Epson, ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, or equivalent vendors)
• HMI Development Proficiency: Experience developing HMIs using C# and/or third-party vendor-specific applications
• SCADA Systems: Experience with industrial SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk)
• IoT Integration: Exposure to IIoT protocols (MQTT, OPC UA) and industrial edge devices
• Machine Vision Systems: Familiarity with machine vision applications is a strong plus (Cognex, Keyence, etc.)
