Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test programs for photonic test systems using C# and Python
• Perform optical and electrical testing for silicon photonics devices. Set up and troubleshoot hardware connections for optical instruments, electrical instruments, fiber arrays, probes, and measurement equipment
• Support tester operation, calibration, debugging, and system integration
• Analyze test data and work with the team to improve measurement quality and repeatability
• Participate in improvement and automation projects to optimize test time and tester performance
• Collaborate closely with engineers across different shifts to ensure smooth operation and knowledge sharing

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields
• Knowledge or interest in:
• Silicon photonics testing and measurement systems
• Automation and instrumentation
• Programming experience in C# and/or Python
• Hands-on mindset and comfortable working with hardware and instruments
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment

Additional Attributes

• Experience with optical testing or photonics devices
• Familiarity with instruments such as lasers, power meters, oscilloscopes, source meters, etc.
• Experience with automation frameworks or test development
• Interest in building custom tools, fixtures, or engineering improvement projects
