Position: Lead Engineer, Mechanical Rotating
Location: Teluk Gong, Klang
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Minimum twelve (12) years of relevant working experience in engineering design, fabrication, equipment installation, hook-up, testing, and commissioning for upstream offshore Oil & Gas facilities projects.
- Proven experience in rotating equipment engineering including pumps, compressors, generators, turbines, and package equipment for offshore facilities.
- Experience in skid installation, piping interface works, and piping alignment activities related to rotating equipment.
- Proven experience in a similar capacity involving at least one (1) Wellhead Platform project and brownfield integration works.
- Strong knowledge in rotating equipment installation, alignment, vibration monitoring, mechanical seal systems, lubrication systems, and troubleshooting activities.
- Experience in offshore EPCC projects including detailed engineering, procurement support, fabrication, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Familiar with international standards and codes such as API, ASME, ISO, ASTM, and PETRONAS Technical Standards related to rotating equipment.
- Capable to lead rotating mechanical engineering activities from tender/proposal stage until project execution and completion (“roll-over” to project team).
- Experience in tender and proposal activities including technical evaluation, engineering estimation, equipment review, and preparation of technical proposals.
- Able to review and approve rotating equipment datasheets, technical specifications, layouts, alignment procedures, vendor documents, and installation methodologies.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with clients, vendors, packagers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in FAT, SAT, troubleshooting, performance testing, and offshore commissioning activities is an added advantage.
- Proficient in relevant engineering software and rotating equipment engineering tools.
- Willing to work based in Teluk Gong and travel offshore/site when required.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage rotating equipment engineering activities for offshore Oil & Gas EPCC projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables related to rotating equipment including datasheets, technical specifications, calculations, layouts, alignment procedures, and vendor documents.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure proper integration of rotating equipment into offshore facilities.
- Support tender and proposal activities including technical clarification, engineering estimation, equipment review, and project execution planning.
- Review vendor submissions and provide technical evaluation for rotating equipment packages and associated systems.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, skid assembly, equipment installation, piping alignment, hook-up, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, contractual requirements, safety standards, and applicable industry codes.
- Attend meetings with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders as required.
- Monitor project progress, identify technical issues, and provide engineering solutions related to rotating equipment performance and installation.
- Support offshore hook-up, brownfield integration, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning activities when required.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical personnel within the rotating equipment team.
Salary Range
Salary range shall be commensurate with the candidate’s competency, relevant experience, capability in meeting the job requirements, and within the approved hiring budget.
Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
