About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing accounting firm in Malaysia as an Accounting Associate. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our team with various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulations.
Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including recording invoices, payments, and receipts.
Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including general ledgers, trial balances, and income statements.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Maintain fixed asset registers and perform depreciation calculations.
Prepare GST returns and other tax-related documents.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues regarding accounting matters.
Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting standards and Malaysian regulations.
Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, SAP, Xero) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and regulations (FRS/MASB) is a plus.
