This is not just a “sit and do craft” role.
We’re looking for instructors who can guide creativity, manage a classroom, and bring ideas to life — not just hand out materials.
At Whizz Kidz, our arts programmes are hands-on, structured, and imaginative. The right instructor knows how to balance creative freedom + guidance + classroom control.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging, hands-on arts & crafts lessons using structured lesson plans
- Guide students through projects such as painting, drawing, clay, collage, and mixed media
- Encourage independent thinking and creativity (not just copying examples)
- Demonstrate techniques clearly and support students at different skill levels
- Manage class flow, transitions, and behaviour confidently
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace (this is important)
- Represent Whizz Kidz professionally when interacting with schools and parents
What We’re Actually Looking For
- You can hold a classroom’s attention while keeping things fun
- You are creative, but also structured and organised
- You’re patient, encouraging, but able to be firm when needed
- You take initiative — you don’t wait to be told what to do
- You are reliable and consistent (schools depend on this)
- You genuinely enjoy working with children aged 4–12
This Role Is NOT For You If:
- You prefer passive roles (e.g. just assisting or observing)
- You struggle with classroom management or giving clear instructions
- You are messy/unorganised and not mindful of materials or cleanup
- You cannot commit consistently to weekly sessions
Requirements
- Interest in art, craft, or creative activities
- Able to commit weekly (min. 6 months, excluding school holidays)
- Willing to travel to different school locations across Singapore
- Willing to undergo a background check (required for school settings)
- Confident communication and basic classroom management skills
Bonus (Nice to Have)
- Experience working with children
- Background in art, design, or creative education
- Familiarity with painting, drawing, clay, sculpture, or mixed media
Training & Support
- Structured lesson plans and materials provided
- Instructor training and guidance included
- Ongoing support from coordinators
