Job Description:

• Perform pastoral duties including student support, counselling students with academic development and providing student encouragement
• Communicate effectively with all parties such as students, parents, peers and line managers on a regular basis on students’ progress
• Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the literacy learning process
• Ensure the students’ growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
• Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines and honouring schedules
• To have an allocated group of key students and have an awareness of these student’s difficulties
• To support these student either in whole class, in small groups or on an individual basis and to help to alleviate their difficulties through appropriate support
• To plan for and teach small group intervention classes to support language proficiency and/or learning needs
• To work closely with parents, teachers and Heads to ensure a cohesive approach to the support provided to students. Information pertinent to student need should be shared swiftly within this group as appropriate but with a respect for confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, Linguistics, TESL/TEFL or related field
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent preferred)
• Experience teaching EAL/ESL/EFL, preferably in an international school setting
• Familiarity with international curricula (Cambridge, IGCSE, or IB is an advantage)
• Strong command of spoken and written English
• Good classroom management and communication skills

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
