Key Responsibilities

• Design enterprise data architecture, including logical and physical data models for structured and unstructured data
• Define and govern multi-layer data architecture (raw, processed, curated/analytics layers)
• Establish enterprise data governance frameworks, classification models, and ownership structures
• Architect solutions across:
• Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
• NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Search/indexing systems (e.g., OpenSearch / Elasticsearch)
• Vector databases (e.g., Qdrant / Milvus / Pinecone)
• Object storage systems (e.g., MinIO / S3-compatible storage)
• Define disaster recovery strategy including RTO/RPO, backup, replication, and failover design
• Design high-availability and clustering strategies for enterprise-scale systems
• Define schema standards, indexing strategies, partitioning models, and performance tuning guidelines
• Implement data lifecycle policies including retention, archival, and purge strategies
• Ensure audit logging, access tracking, and governance compliance across all data layers
• Define logging standards and integrate with centralized monitoring systems
• Lead capacity planning and scalability strategies for growing data workloads
• Review and approve schema changes, data migrations, and platform enhancements
• Provide technical leadership to Data Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Analytics teams

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in Data Architecture or Enterprise Data Engineering
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL systems
• Familiarity with search and indexing systems (OpenSearch / Elasticsearch)
• Experience with object storage (S3-compatible systems)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and high-availability architecture
• Experience defining RTO/RPO, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Strong knowledge of data security, governance, and audit logging practices
• Ability to operate independently in a highly autonomous environment (95% self-driven work)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
• Exposure to AI/ML data platforms or AI-driven architectures
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based deployments and modern data infrastructure

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
