We are seeking a hands-on Senior Production Engineer with strong automation experience in precision metal components, specifically zinc die casting, to support manufacturing of optical transceiver module housings. This role focuses on optimizing automated processes, improving yield, and ensuring high precision and quality standards for optical components.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and optimize production processes for zinc die casting and secondary processes (e.g., Dril & Tapping, Soldering, Gasket dispensing, Fastening and Inspection process)
• Troubleshoot and maintain automation systems integrated with robotic arms, and inline inspection systems
• Drive improvements in dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and yield for optical module housings
• Work closely with tooling and process teams on optimization and preventive maintenance
• Lead initiatives to reduce defects such as warpage and dimensional variation.
• Support automation integration for high-volume, high-precision manufacturing
• Assist in new product introduction (NPI), including process setup, validation, and line automation readiness

Requirements (Make This More Specific)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related)
• 3–7 years of experience in metal manufacturing, preferably zinc or aluminum die casting
• Hands-on experience with automation systems (PLC, robotics, sensors) in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of die casting processes, tooling, and defect control
• Experience with tight tolerance / precision components (electronics, optical, or similar industries preferred)
• Familiar with secondary processes such as CNC machining, polishing, plating, or coating

Preferred Qualifications (Target the Right Talent Pool)

• Experience in optical transceiver, telecom, or electronics components manufacturing
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and precision measurement tools
• Experience with high-volume production and automation integration in die casting lines
• Familiarity with quality standards for optical/electronic housings
