Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing production machinery and related equipment to ensure smooth operations in a manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Plant Manager and supports production by ensuring all machines are in safe and optimal working condition.
Equipment Maintenance
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance on both mechanical and electrical systems independently.
- Diagnose and repair electrical components such as motors, control circuits, contactors, sensors, and switches.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues involving gearboxes, pneumatic systems, belts, bearings, rotating equipment, and basic hydraulic systems.
- Perform necessary adjustments, part replacements, fabrication works, welding repairs, and maintenance activities to restore equipment functionality and structural integrity.
- Carry out basic fabrication tasks including cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and assembly of metal components and machine parts.
- Perform welding works using appropriate welding processes and equipment for repair, modification, and fabrication of machinery, piping, frames, brackets, and plant equipment.
- Investigate equipment faults of basic to intermediate complexity and implement corrective measures; escalate complex or system-wide issues to the Plant Manager.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, fabrication drawings, and mechanical drawings.
- Conduct basic PLC troubleshooting, including monitoring I/O status, reviewing alarms, and resetting faults.
- Record maintenance activities, welding/fabrication works, and breakdown details accurately.
- Support troubleshooting of PLC interfaces and related production equipment software in accordance with established procedures.
