Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Nursing to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting student learning, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in research, academic service, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, and assess teaching materials for nursing subjects based on the lecturer’s qualifications and expertise.
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and update curriculum, course content, teaching methods, and assessment tools.
- Supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and/or postgraduate research proposals, projects, and theses.
- Maintain and develop subject matter expertise, including participation in clinical practice under the guidance of the Head of School and/or Dean.
- Collaborate with academic and clinical staff to support effective teaching and learning delivery.
- Provide pastoral care and academic support to students, including mentoring, attendance monitoring, academic progress tracking, and remedial support when required.
- Foster positive working relationships within the faculty and with healthcare providers or relevant external agencies.
- Undertake administrative duties related to student admissions, assessment, progress monitoring, achievement, and attendance.
- Contribute to university and faculty initiatives aligned with strategic development plans.
- Actively participate in research, publication, scholarly activities, and knowledge exchange to support the school’s academic reputation.
- Support other administrative, academic, or representative duties assigned by the Head of School or Dean.
- Participate in external activities such as committees, working groups, community engagement, and social responsibility initiatives.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness and academic growth.
- Be willing to travel and represent the faculty at meetings, events, and other assignments within Malaysia or overseas when required.
- Support occasional weekend work for marketing, recruitment, open day, or student engagement activities.
- Adopt flexible working arrangements, including open and distance learning delivery if required.
Requirements
- PhD in Nursing or a related field is an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Post Basic qualification is required/added advantage.
- Registered Nurse with valid professional registration in Malaysia.
- Relevant teaching, clinical, or academic experience in nursing education.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an academic environment.
- Experience in curriculum development, academic supervision, or publication will be an advantage.
