Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standards.
- Oversee and ensure all food preparation meets the recipes, taste, and presentation specifications.
Kitchen and Team Management:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the kitchen team including chefs de partie, commis chefs, and kitchen assistants.
- Manage kitchen sections and ensure proper mise-en-place for smooth operations.
Quality Control:
- Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and taste across all dishes.
- Monitor portion control, food waste, and cost efficiency to protect profit margins.
- Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain sufficient stock.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and in good working order.
- Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Culinary Skills:
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Leadership and Communication:
- Strong leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment.
Hygiene and Safety:
- In-depth knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Food safety and hygiene certification preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Culinary school diploma or degree in a related field preferred.
