About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Engineer to join the team at GFB Automotiove Sdn Bhd in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Selangor. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in our Mechanical Engineering operations.

What you'll be doing

• Develop 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings of automotive parts or assemblies using software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
• Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into design specifications to ensure of all projects are according to the agreed schedule and customer expectations
• Responsible for generating product designs, including determining special characteristics and engineering requirements for all projects
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance analyses, and engineering calculations to validate design integrity
• Responsible for all design modifications at all stages, including mass production
• Preparing detailed technical reports and documentation on project progress against the agreed baseline plan
• Identify the technical deliverables, based on the scope agreed by the Project Manager
• Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
• Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
• Prepare engineering documents, reports, and specifications also provide technical support to other departments as required
• Conducting research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and innovation
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex engineering issues

What we're looking for

• Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in automotive project management & experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
• Certified CATIA V5 Professional User
• Proficient in 3D modelling, assembly design, and detailed drafting with solid manufacturing logic
• Strong simulation skills using FEA and CFD tools, with the ability to optimize designs for performance and cost
• Advanced knowledge and practical application of GD&T according to ISO standards
• Hands-on experience with DFM and DFA principles to ensure manufacturability and ease of assembly
• Familiarity with automotive project execution, including APQP disciplines such as DFMEA, DVP, Control Plan, and PPAP
• Good communication and technical reporting skills, including interfacing with cross-functional teams and suppliers
• Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous
