Approved Group International is seeking an Assistant Forensic Engineer with a mechanical background to support complex failure investigations and root cause analysis. This role is ideal for a mechanical engineer with early-career experience looking to transition into the specialized field of forensic engineering and expert testimony.

The Role

• Failure Investigation: Assist in the root cause analysis of mechanical devices, machinery breakdowns, and hydraulic systems.
• Site Documentation: Conduct site inspections, including photography, video documentation, and witness interviews.
• Evidence Handling: Manage the collection and treatment of physical evidence according to company protocols.
• Technical Reporting: Draft progress reports within 4 working days of site visits and assist in producing final analytical reports using the Quality Management System.
• Collaboration: Liaise with asset owners, loss adjusters, and third-party testing laboratories to ensure successful case delivery.

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in an engineering field.
• Technical Skills: Solid understanding of core mechanical concepts, including kinematics, thermodynamics, and material degradation.
• Communication: Technical writing skills with high accuracy in grammar and report formatting.
• Mobility: Must possess a valid driving license and the willingness to self-drive to various sites.
• Personal Attributes: A curious, inquisitive mindset with a commitment to honesty and confidentiality.

Working Conditions

• Availability: Willingness to be on standby 24/7 and travel overseas for investigations.
• Field Demands: Ability to work in non-conducive environments, such as extreme heat, uneven terrain, and confined spaces like attics or basements.
• Concentration: Capable of spending long hours in intense concentration on data organization and technical analysis.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
