Tanggungjawab

We are seeking a high-caliber Technical Head to lead our engineering department and serve as the central technical authority for our regional operations. In this role, you will act as a "Technical Commander," overseeing multiple on-site teams, diagnosing complex issues remotely, and making the final call on technical executions. You will bridge the gap between high-level project strategy and ground-level technical reality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Command & Coordination: Act as the central point of contact for all technical personnel. You will be responsible for assigning daily tasks, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring that technical resources are deployed efficiently across various sites.
  • Remote Diagnostic & Troubleshooting: You must be able to remotely advise and guide on-site technicians through complex installations and failures. This involves diagnosing hardware, wiring, or software issues via remote access, video calls, or logs, and providing clear, decisive instructions to resolve the problem immediately.
  • Technical Proposal Audit & Optimization: Review all technical proposals to ensure solutions are "fit-for-purpose." You will identify overkill or redundant components and refine designs to be more cost-effective and operationally efficient.
  • On-site Leadership & Quality Control: While you will lead remotely, you will also perform periodic site audits to ensure that the "standard of work" meets company requirements and that the team is following the technical directives you've issued.
  • System Programming & IT Integration: Oversee and execute the programming of dataloggers (e.g., Campbell Scientific), system controllers (e.g., Raspberry Pi / ESP32 / Arduino), and cloud-based data telemetry.
  • Decision Making: Take full ownership of technical failures and successes. When a problem arises on-site, you are the person who makes the final technical decision to keep the project moving. For all "Critical Technical Decisions," you must report to the Management for final approval before execution.

Required Leadership & Technical Skills

  • Command Presence & Leadership: Proven experience in managing a technical team, assigning KPIs, and coordinating manpower for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Exceptional Communication: The ability to explain complex technical procedures clearly and calmly over the phone or radio to technicians working under pressure on-site.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: A "detective’s mindset"—able to look at a data stream or a photo of a wiring cabinet and pinpoint exactly where the fault lies.
  • Programming & IT Proficiency: Strong hands-on knowledge of Python, C++, or specialized instrumentation languages, along with a deep understanding of IoT networking (RS485, Modbus, MQTT, LoRa).
  • Commercial Acumen: The ability to balance "perfect engineering" with "business reality," ensuring proposals are competitive and lean.

Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in IT / Computer Engineering / Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience: 6+ years in the instrumentation/monitoring field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead engineer role.
  • Location: Based in Kuala Lumpur, with the ability to manage teams across Singapore, West Malaysia and East Malaysia.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month

Benefits:

  • Opportunities for promotion
  • Parental leave

Work Location: In person
