Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to oversee and manage the company’s entire transportation and fleet operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling all types of lorries and heavy vehicles, coordinating machinery movements, managing delivery orders, and ensuring all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet Scheduling

• Plan and coordinate daily scheduling of all lorry types including tippers, prime movers, trailers, and low loaders trucks
• Arrange loading, unloading, and movement of heavy machinery and equipment to designated sites
• Assign drivers to tasks based on priority, vehicle availability, and delivery requirements
• Ensure all vehicles are ready and operational according to the daily schedule

2. Resource & Capacity Management

• Assess fleet requirements for each task, project, and delivery route
• Source and engage external lorries and vehicles (subcontractors) when internal fleet capacity is insufficient
• Negotiate rates, availability, and service terms with external transport vendors
• Monitor fleet capacity and plan optimal vehicle allocation across operations

3. Order Management & Customer Coordination

• Receive, process, and manage delivery orders from customers and internal departments
• Handle urgent orders with immediate prioritisation and rapid response
• Coordinate with customers on delivery schedules, locations, quantities, and special requirements
• Confirm order details including material type, tonnage, and destination

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Collect and process Delivery Orders (DO) from every trip
• Prepare and submit daily lorry trip reports & (DO) to management
• Record all delivery activities including trip count, tonnage, distances, and travel times
• Maintain up-to-date fleet records including vehicle status, driver availability, and maintenance schedules

5. Delivery Monitoring & Assurance

• Ensure all deliveries reach customer locations within the agreed timeframe
• Monitor lorry journey status in real-time via GPS tracking and communication channels
• Resolve field issues promptly, including vehicle breakdowns, delays, or route changes
• Ensure drivers comply with designated routes, safety procedures, and company policies

6. Cross-Department Coordination

• Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, drivers, operators, and management
• Coordinate with quarry operations for material production and loading schedules
• Liaise with the workshop for vehicle maintenance status and availability updates
• Work closely with the accounts department for DO verification, billing, and subcontractor payments
• Escalate operational issues to senior management promptly

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related field
• 2–3 years of experience in logistics (bonus), fleet management
• Knowledge of heavy vehicle types and transportation operations (bonus)
• Familiarity with local transport regulations (JPJ/APAD) is an advantage

Skills

• Strong time management, scheduling, and multitasking abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent situations effectively
• Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Excel, WhatsApp, GPS tracking systems, ERP software)
• Good knowledge of local geography, delivery routes, and road networks

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM2,750.00 per month
