About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Linux Apache Engineer to design, automate, secure, and optimize enterprise web server environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a DevOps-driven infrastructure environment, enjoys automation, and has deep expertise in Apache on RHEL systems.

You will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and compliant web server platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Web Server Engineering & Automation

• Install, configure, and maintain Apache HTTP servers on RHEL environments
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for automated server provisioning and configuration
• Integrate automation into CI/CD and operational workflows
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of web servers

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Implement and enforce web server security best practices and policies
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Monitor systems and respond to security incidents
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal security standards
• Define governance frameworks, SOPs, and access control policies

Troubleshooting & Operations

• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and web server issues
• Perform system health checks and eliminate identified deficiencies
• Support server migration and infrastructure transformation initiatives

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and automation scripts
• Provide training and guidance to internal users and teams
• Conduct demos and technical showcases to share progress and best practices

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Provide technical consultation and support to internal stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and infrastructure standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in Linux infrastructure and web server engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache HTTP Server on RHEL
• Proven expertise in Ansible automation (playbooks, roles, collections)
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration (RHEL)
• Strong knowledge of web server security, hardening, and compliance
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python)
• Experience with SELinux, firewalls, and system security tools

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Satellite
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity)
• Knowledge of Git, version control, and SDLC practices
• Experience with Jinja2 templating
• Exposure to VMware or virtualization platforms
• Knowledge of other web servers (e.g., Nginx, IIS)
• Understanding of SIEM, PAM, and security patching processes

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
