Tanggungjawab

  • Lead and develop implementation of rail engineering projects in accordance with Malaysian rail industry requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., APAD, MOT, DOSH where relevant), and rail safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor project progress, budget, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify and address engineering challenges and propose practical and innovative solutions aligned with local operating conditions.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in rail technology, signaling systems, and Malaysian rail industry practices.
  • You will be reporting to the Vice President of Rail Unit.
  • To oversee existing and new projects related to Signaling, Government DE projects, RAC initiative projects, or any other relevant projects as assigned.
  • To monitor Signaling works and coordinate project meetings with contractors to ensure timely delivery, issue resolution, and payment verification, where applicable.
  • To prepare reports, presentation materials, and Board of Directors (BOD) papers as required by VP Rail or COO Rail.
  • To evaluate and approve daily and monthly reports prepared by RAC staff in relation to Signaling or project works.
  • To oversee the performance of Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Technicians under the Senior Engineer.
  • To support and oversee contract management activities in line with Malaysian procurement practices and company policies.
  • To carry out site inspections for all Rail Unit projects, ensuring compliance with local authority and safety requirements.
  • To attend internal and external meetings, workshops, tests, and inspections and prepare minutes when required.
  • To undertake other rail-related duties as assigned by VP Rail or COO Rail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Railway Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s is an advantage);
  • 6–8 years of experience in Signaling system, Testing & Commissioning, Railway system, or large-scale asset management/maintenance;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage;
  • Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory requirements and railway standards (experience with KTMB projects is an added advantage);
  • Strong problem-solving skills, leadership, and technical background;
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills;
  • Familiarity with government tender processes is an added advantage;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
