Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing construction projects to ensure successful delivery within timeline, budget, and quality standards. The candidate must have experience handling JKR projects, familiar with government procedures, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Implementation
- Assist Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing project activities.
- Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Coordinate project activities according to project timeline and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
2. JKR Project Coordination
- Familiar with JKR procedures, guidelines, and submission requirements.
- Ensure project complies with JKR standards, specifications, and regulations.
- Prepare and submit documents required by JKR.
- Attend meetings with JKR officers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Follow up on approvals, instructions, and technical matters related to JKR.
3. Site Monitoring & Supervision
- Coordinate with Site Engineer, Site Supervisor, and subcontractors.
- Monitor site progress and ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings.
- Identify site issues and propose solutions.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved.
4. Contract & Documentation
- Assist in contract administration based on JKR form of contract.
- Monitor variation orders (VO), site instructions, and project changes.
- Maintain proper documentation and records.
- Prepare project correspondence and reports.
5. Cost & Budget Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring project budget and cost control.
- Coordinate with Quantity Surveyor on cost-related matters.
- Track project expenses and financial progress.
6. Quality Control
- Ensure construction works comply with specifications and standards.
- Assist in implementing QA/QC procedures.
- Monitor workmanship quality.
7. Safety Compliance
- Ensure site activities comply with safety requirements (DOSH, CIDB, JKR).
- Promote safe working environment.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed on site.
8. Reporting & Communication
- Prepare project progress reports and updates.
- Attend site meetings and prepare minutes of meeting.
- Liaise with client, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
- Update management on project status and issues.
Job RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Building or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 4–7 years experience in construction industry.
- Must have experience handling JKR (government) projects.
- Experience in building construction preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
