Job Responsibility

The primary role of the Network System Administrator is to perform effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of LAN and WAN hardware and software and related infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls).

LAN/WAN administrator needs solid technical skills and experience with a variety of network protocols, software and hardware involved in LAN and WAN operations.

The position requires strong troubleshooting, analytic and diagnostic skills along with good communication abilities. In addition, company may require the individual to be on call 12/7 in case of network failures or emergencies. He/she also ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Proactive monitoring of overall network health, so possible issues can be addressed before problems arise.
• Resolve problems relating to our network infrastructure.
• Provide leadership for network design and support
• Ongoing design and improvement of our network environment
• Documenting all changes to any system in the change control system
• Provide day to day technical supervision for the network team.
• Provide project management for network related projects
• Assist with security audits
• Participate in any IT Infrastructure projects as necessary
• Must be able to document the environment, including project plans, network diagrams

Job Requirement

• Undergraduate degree, Bachelors (in Computer Science or IT related field preferred)
• 5+ years administration/designing LAN and WAN networks
• Experience with MPLS networks and new WAN rollouts
• 3+ years experience with the following devices/concepts:
• Cisco certifications and experience mandatory
• 3+ Experience with Cisco firewalls and IPSEC mandatory
• Experience with Cisco IDS/IDPS
• Experience with URL filtering technologies
• Experience with Foundry/Brocade switches desired
• Experience with Layer 4 load balancers
• Experience with Watchguard Firewalls desired
• Experience setting up and monitoring networks using SNMP
• Experience in DR at the WAN / LAN / network layer
• Experience in the IT support arena
• Experience managing/participating in multiple simultaneous projects
• Self motivated team player who will fit well into high-demand, fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrate analytical skills needed to troubleshoot problems and issue that arise with server administration.
• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
• Great at documentation and network diagrams

• Able to work flexible hours, perform maintenance during after hours maintenance windows
