Position Overview

The Lead Mechanical Engineering will lead the design and construction of data center projects across the APAC region. As a member of the Central Design & Construction team, this role will oversee all mechanical (MEP) aspects of data center development, with a strong focus on delivering efficient and high-performance cooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of greenfield and brownfield data center projects to meet long-term capacity and business objectives.
• Support data center remodeling projects and the deployment of additional services in existing data halls.
• Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop conceptual design schemes.
• Prepare technical prospectuses, basis-of-design documents, and engineering design briefs for new and upgraded facilities.
• Manage the lead design consultant to ensure all designs and documentation are complete, accurate, and aligned with project requirements.
• Adhere to established procedures and obtain all necessary internal and external approvals.
• Develop new procedures where required to support project execution and compliance.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date project documentation.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design and on-site technical issues.
• Review and cross-check designs from other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, to ensure alignment and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in greenfield design, live data center modifications, maintenance operations, testing and commissioning, MEP work planning and coordination.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic, and results-driven environments, managing multiple priorities with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated experience in leading multi-discipline teams to successfully deliver complex projects.
• Confident and professional in client-facing interactions, with strong presentation skills.
• Experience with data center operations will be an added advantage.
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooling technologies and trends, with a focus on sustainable and energy-efficient solutions.
• Willingness to travel regionally as required to support project delivery.
