Job Summary
As IT Project Engineer, you deliver IT infrastructure for automated material handling systems across APAC. You advise on IT solutions, implement cybersecurity, and collaborate with international teams to commission and support complex airport and parcel systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact for internal and external customers, communicating clearly and taking ownership of IT infrastructure delivery and support
- Analyze customer problems by asking targeted questions and translating findings into effective technical solutions
- Execute implementations and troubleshoot systematically using top-down or bottom-up approaches as needed
- Advise customers on cause-and-effect relationships to minimize operational downtime and recommend next steps
- Proactively manage tasks based on project plans and personal insights to ensure timely delivery and support
- Collaborate with international multidisciplinary teams and local subcontractors to integrate complex systems in airports and parcel logistics
- Support commissioning and operational use of IT infrastructure, including networking, virtualization, Linux and Windows operating systems, and related hardware
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 2-5 years relevant experience with IT infrastructure delivery and support, preferably in industrial automation or logistics
- Hands-on experience with HP server hardware, storage, VMware virtualization, Suse/Ubuntu Linux, and MS Windows operating systems
- Hands-on experience configuring Cisco network hardware, including firewalls, switches, and routing
- Experience with IT monitoring tools and middleware such as Oracle databases and Weblogic application servers
- Knowledge of designing and implementing IT cybersecurity guidelines and software, including Trend Micro/McAfee, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and system hardening
- Familiarity with ITIL methodologies, Lean, and Six Sigma principles
- Basic knowledge of testing methodologies and troubleshooting techniques
- Proficient communication skills in English to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Assertive, proactive team player mindset
- Willingness to travel up to 80% and participate in standby schedules for operational escalation support
