About the Role


The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of project cost control, contract administration, and commercial management from project inception to final account. This role ensures that construction and engineering projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.


The QS will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients to support tendering activities, cost planning, valuation of work done, and management of variations throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for projects
  • Measure quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ)
  • Provide cost advice and value engineering recommendations
  • Evaluate tender submissions and recommend contractors/suppliers
  • Assist in the preparation and review of contracts, variations, and claims
  • Monitor project costs and cash flow to ensure budget compliance
  • Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts
  • Track project variations, claims, and expenditures
  • Identify cost risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with contractual agreements and project requirements
  • Support negotiation and agreement processes related to project costs and contracts


What We’re Looking For


  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Constructions Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years working experience in construction, engineering, or projects management (depending on seniority).
  • Experience in handling cost estimations, tendering, contracts and projects cost controls.
  • Technical aptitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Registered with relevant professional bodies (e.g. BQSM / RISM) is an advantage.
