Job Summary

The Project Engineer (Civil) is responsible for managing and supervising civil works for high-voltage substation projects up to 275kV. The role ensures all construction activities are executed in compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution

• Manage and supervise civil works for substation projects up to 275kV.

• Oversee construction of transformer foundations, equipment foundations, cable trenches, control building, retaining walls, and related infrastructure.

• Ensure all works are carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.

• Monitor site progress to ensure timely completion within budget.

2. Technical & Coordination

• Review civil and structural drawings, technical documents, and BOQ.

• Coordinate closely with electrical engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients.

• Attend site meetings and resolve technical/site issues promptly.

• Provide technical support during installation of heavy equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear).

3. Site Management & Quality Control

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safety regulations.

• Conduct site inspections and monitor subcontractor performance.

• Ensure quality workmanship in reinforced concrete, structural steel, and infrastructure works.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and verify progress claims, site documentation, and reports.

• Assist in project scheduling, cost control, and material planning.

• Ensure proper documentation for testing, commissioning, and project handover.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in substation civil construction.

• Proven experience in high-voltage substation projects up to 275kV or below is mandatory.

• Strong knowledge in:

• Transformer & equipment foundation works

• Cable trench & duct bank construction

• Reinforced concrete & structural steel works

• Able to interpret civil & structural drawings.

• Familiar with TNB or high-voltage substation standards (added advantage).

• Willing to work on-site and travel as required.
