Job Summary
The Senior Audit Associate is responsible for leading and executing audit engagements, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves direct client interaction, planning and reviewing audit work, and supporting managers in delivering high-quality assurance services.
Key ResponsibilitiesAudit & Assurance
- Lead audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Review audit working papers prepared by junior team members.
- Perform risk assessments and design appropriate audit procedures.
- Ensure compliance with approved accounting standards, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify audit issues, risks, and recommend practical solutions to clients.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to Audit Associates and Interns.
- Review and provide feedback on team members’ work.
- Assist in staff development and training activities.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain effective communication with clients throughout the audit process.
- Prepare audit findings, management letters, and other deliverables.
- Support managers in building strong client relationships.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist in internal quality control and practice management initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies and processes.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Audit Managers/Partners.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- At least 2–4 years of audit experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and audit software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to lead a team, manage multiple assignments, and work under pressure.
