THE ROLE
A hands-on accounting manager overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting process improvements and system enhancements.

THE TASKS
Financial Operations
- Oversee and participate in day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and general ledger maintenance
- Manage banking activities, including monitoring cash balances, initiating/approving payments, and overseeing bank reconciliations
- Manage and review payroll processing, including approval of payroll runs, ensuring accuracy of employee pay, deductions, and related journal entries
- Lead and execute the month-end close process with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Support preparation of financial reporting packages, including variance analysis versus budget and prior periods
- Assist with consolidated reporting across multiple entities (US, Canada, and other regions)
- Review journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support cash flow tracking and assist in maintaining the 13-week cash flow forecast
- Partner with the VP of Finance on audit requirements and coordinate deliverables for external auditors
- Ensure proper recording of all accounting transactions
Process Optimization & Strategic Support
- Support ongoing enhancements and optimization of the NetSuite ERP system
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual effort
- Assist in developing standardized procedures and improving reporting workflows
- Provide financial data and analysis to support internal decision-making
Team Management
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Review team deliverables and provide guidance to ensure quality and deadlines are met
- Support the establishment of clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability
- Foster a collaborative and continuous improvement mindset within the team
Compliance & Tax
- Coordinate with external advisors to support corporate tax and sales tax filings
- Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
- Support documentation and maintenance of tax and compliance-related SOPs
THE SKILL SET
- At least minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA designation or accounting designation equivalent to Canadian CPA
- Experience in People Management
- Exposure to US GAAP
- Must be able to work on EMEA time zone from 3pm to 11pm MYT
