Job Purpose:


Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in NUH. Assist the senior pharmacist in charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Pharmacy Operations: Process medication orders, pick and pack medicines according to SOPs, perform medication reconciliation including counting and sorting prescriptions, and handle billing functions.


  • Automation Management: Manage deblistering and unit dose repackaging systems (IPAS, OPAS, ATDPS), oversee automated dispensing cabinet setup, resolve system problems, and ensure quality control of repackaged products from external vendors.


  • Security Management: Maintain active security systems and ensure security of stocks, premises and stored information at all times.


  • Inventory Management: Stock medicines according to FIRST-in-First-Out principles and proper storage conditions, top up ward stock, manage pre-packing systems, verify goods receipt, and conduct cycle counts according to SOPs.


  • Clinical Duties (Pharmacy Technician only): Process nurse request orders, dispense medications per SOPs, provide bedside counselling for inpatients, assist with pharmacy medication sales under supervision, and conduct dispensing audits to ensure compliance with policies.


  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to all patients and customers.


Job Requirements:


Pharmacy Technician

  • Entry level Full-Time Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science OR possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR foreign Pharmacy degree (not recognised by Singapore Pharmacy Council)
  • Possess basic dispensary skills


Pharmacy Assistant

  • Entry level Diploma Graduate
  • 3 years pharmacy-related working experience in Singapore preferred.

  • Possess strong organisational skills and able to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively and function as a productive team member.
