Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to join our team in Petaling Jaya. This is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, reporting, compliance, and financial planning activities.

The Financial Controller will serve as the Group’s strategic financial and accounting advisor, providing strong financial leadership in compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements. The role is responsible for overseeing the Group’s cash flow management, financial reporting, and overall financial performance, while delivering accurate insights and recommendations to support business growth and strategic decision-making for the Group Managing Director (GMD) and Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO).

Salary & Compensation

RM8,000.00 – RM15,000.00 per month (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure statutory requirements are met in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations; 
• Be accountable for producing the Annual Audited Financial Report, working closely with the senior management team to provide and refine as necessary the financial reports and associated analysis across the growing business unit on an accurate and timely basis; 
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Management and Revenue Recognition; 
• Lead the annual planning exercise, including the preparation of Budget and Forecasts, and provide financial analysis and insights to support the development of the company strategy; 
• Review Financial forecasts on quarterly basis and report the cause of variances; 
• Prepare and publish timely monthly Financial Reporting pack and circulate to the relevant stakeholders; 
• Coordinate the preparation of Regulatory reporting; 
• To lead all coordination with CoSec / External Auditors / Tax Agents Coordinate   
• Research technical accounting updates for compliance; 
• Review the month-end and year-end closing processing; 
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting; 
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings; 
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; 
• Lead, engage and develop the personnel within all areas of the finance team; 
• Manage all aspects of the finance function for the income statement, balance sheet, product profitability, capital and risk management; 
• Monitor the risk profile and solvency of the company, recommending suitable arrangements to manage risks; 
• Provide financial advice and support to the GCEO, GMD, Senior Management and Board of Directors of the business unit in the development of major objectives and policies, in the review of plans and the development of appropriate financial controls and reports; 
• Establish, implement and monitor appropriate control and accounting systems; 
• Safeguard the company assets and comply with all reporting standards (IFRS and the local GAAP); 
• Additional controller duties as necessary. 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Accounting / Finance/ Investment/ Economics/ or equivalent 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA, or equivalent are highly advantageous
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in Finance
• Proven experience in a management role
• Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset and the ability to drive financial and operational performance
• Exceptional attention to detail, work independently and ability to manage deadlines effectively
• Proficient in financial reporting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
