About Us

The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) is a Regional Inter-Governmental Organisation (IGO) established under the auspices of UNESCO. From our headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, we drive media development, policy, and capacity building across the Asia-Pacific electronic media industry.


We are seeking a creative, versatile, and dynamic Graphic Designer to elevate our visual storytelling. In this role, you will work closely with our editorial and programme teams to craft compelling visuals that strengthen AIBD’s brand presence across broadcast, social media, and web platforms.



Position Overview

  • Job Title: Graphic Designer
  • Department: Communications / Creative Team
  • Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (On-site at Angkasapuri)
  • Employment Type: Contract
  • Target Profile: Energetic, early-to-mid career creatives (fresh graduates with standout portfolios are welcome).



Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Content & Social Media

  • Design daily news infographics, visual explainers, and digital content for the AIBD Official Website, TV AIBD, and social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Develop branded posters, event visuals, campaign artwork, and promotional materials for international activities.
  • Organize media planner artwork for interviews, promos, and video content featuring the CEO and high-profile guests.

2. Publication & Editorial Design

  • Quarterly AIBD Broadcaster: Lead the design, layout, and branding (magazine/newsletter layouts, feature spreads, and templates).
  • AIBD Publications & Reports: Format and design layouts for the AMS Annual Proceedings, including covers, charts, and data visualization elements.

3. Corporate & Web Support

  • Create polished, high-level PowerPoint presentation decks for stakeholder engagements.
  • Update website visuals, including homepage banners, event thumbnails, and maintaining overall visual consistency via WordPress.
  • Provide light copy or headline suggestions to enhance visual messaging during creative brainstorming sessions.



Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in a media, newsroom, publication, or creative communications environment. (A strong portfolio is highly valued; enthusiastic fresh graduates are welcome to apply).

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Design Tools: High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Knowledge of Canva, or similar modern tools is a distinct advantage.
  • Web: Working knowledge of WordPress for updating web banners and layout visual consistency.
  • Design Sense: A strong grasp of typography, layout, color theory, data visualization, and publication design.
  • Soft Skills: Dynamic problem-solver, resilient under tight deadlines, and highly collaborative with an eye for detail.
