Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the overall factory operations, including production, manpower, quality, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. The role also involves leading factory expansion projects, including planning, setup, coordination and execution to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Achieve production targets, schedules and customer delivery requirements consistently
- Monitor productivity, efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP), SOPs, hygiene and safety regulations
- Lead, supervise and develop production teams including supervisors and line staff
- Manage manpower planning, scheduling, attendance and workforce allocation
- Drive staff training, coaching and performance improvement initiatives
- Control raw material usage, inventory and wastage for cost efficiency
- Ensure machinery, equipment and facilities are well maintained with minimal downtime
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs and external service providers
- Review production, operational and maintenance reports for management updates
- Identify issues and implement corrective and preventive actions for improvement
- Lead factory expansion, upgrading and improvement projects from planning to execution
- Plan layout, workflow and production flow for operational efficiency
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, suppliers and authorities for project execution
- Monitor project timelines, budget, quality and compliance requirements
- Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment and facilities
- Support technology and system adoption to improve efficiency and productivity
- Ensure cross-department coordination and effective communication
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Food Technology or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in central kitchen, food manufacturing or large-scale food production manufacturing environment.
- Experience in factory setup, expansion, renovation or project management will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of production operation, food safety standards, HACCP and GMP requirements.
- Good leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Computer literate and able to prepare reports and production records.
- Proactive, independent and possess a strong sense of responsibility.
