BRIEF

Responsible for leading corporate finance, investment analysis, and investor management activities to support the Group’s strategic growth objectives. This role involves conducting financial and investment analysis, managing investment portfolios, supporting fundraising and banking facilities, as well as handling investor and stakeholder communications. The incumbent will also support corporate finance transactions including capital raising, M&A, joint ventures, and advisory mandates while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and successful execution of strategic initiatives.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Portfolio Management:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of markets, sectors, and company fundamentals, including financial outlooks.
  • Develop and provide actionable investment recommendations based on thorough analysis.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investment portfolios.
  • Identify and recommend new investment opportunities or monetization strategies to enhance portfolio performance.

Financial and Investment Reporting:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive monthly financial and investment portfolio reviews to key stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholders, investor queries and clarifications
  • Identify and recommend new investment opportunities or monetization strategies to enhance portfolio performance.

Banking Facilities

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, project funding projections, and financial models to support financing applications and annual bank reviews.
  • Compile and prepare complete financing proposals, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to financial institutions.
  • Review facility letters, term sheets, and legal documentation to ensure alignment with management’s decisions and the company’s best interests.

Corporate Finance Support:

  • Support capital raising, funding, and other corporate finance initiatives, ensuring successful deliverables.
  • Manage treasury functions to meet both short-term and long-term funding requirements including assisting in both debt and equity fundraising.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Joint Venture:

  • Support the holding company and its associate companies in all M&A activities, Joint Venture, including due diligence, structuring, and execution.
  • Assist in post-merger integration efforts to ensure seamless transitions and synergies.

Business Advisory Support:

  • Provide support to the external business advisory arm when required, leveraging corporate finance expertise to advise clients on various financial strategies.

Corporate Finance Advisory:

  • Support the origination and execution of corporate finance advisory mandates, including business development and inter-departmental coordination.
  • Leverage strong origination skills to independently collaborate with business partners, particularly in deal origination.

Transaction Structuring and Execution:

  • Structure and execute complex corporate finance transactions, ensuring full compliance with Malaysian regulatory and execution processes, including SC Equity Guidelines, CMSA, Bursa Securities Listing Requirements, and SC Rules on Take-Overs, Mergers, and Compulsory Acquisitions.

Ad-Hoc Assignments:

  • Assist the Group with various assignments and projects as directed by management.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or a related field. Candidates pursuing CFA or ICAEW are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking or related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proven track record of originating and executing successful deals for both private and public entities.
  • Familiarity with various valuation methodologies, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF).
  • Ability to perform detailed company financial analysis, including assessments of financial performance and health.
  • Demonstrates efficiency under pressure with flexibility to work extended hours as required.
  • Strong networking skills, with excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Passionate about deal-making, with a drive to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented, maintaining positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
