Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire Protection Engineer based in Johor Bahru. The Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining fire safety systems compliant with regulations and standards. Tasks include conducting risk assessments, preparing technical reports, managing fire suppression system installations, and ensuring life safety measures are incorporated in designs. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve safety objectives efficiently.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team for Data Centre Fire Protection Systems Testing & Commissioning works.

## Requirements

• Malaysia Citizen
• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2–5 years experience in fire protection systems
• Experience in Data Centre projects will be an added advantage
• Knowledge in active fire protection systems and fire alarm systems
• Familiar with BOMBA requirements, codes and standards
• Able to work independently and coordinate with consultants, contractors and clients
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Willing to travel and work at site when required

## Job Scope

• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of fire protection systems
• Perform Data Centre CX (Commissioning) Testing activities
• Conduct integrated system testing with Fire Alarm System (FAS), FM200 / Clean Agent System, Sprinkler System and Fire Pump System
• Witness and coordinate cause & effect testing
• Perform troubleshooting and rectification during testing & commissioning stage
• Coordinate with Main Contractor, Consultants, Clients and Vendors
• Prepare testing reports, commissioning documents and as-built records
• Attend site meetings and technical discussions
• Ensure all testing complies with BOMBA requirements and project specifications
• Verify flow switch, pressure switch, valve tamper signal and fire pump signals
• Conduct interface testing between Fire Alarm Panel and Mechanical Systems
• Support Room Integrity Test (RIT) and integrated Data Centre testing
• Ensure proper documentation for inspection and authority submission
• Monitor site progress, safety compliance and quality control

## Additional Advantage

• Experience in Hyperscale Data Centre projects
• Familiar with VESDA, FM200, NOVEC, Pre-Action System and Gas Suppression System
• Knowledge in NFPA standards and UBBL requirements
• Experience handling T&C documentation and authority inspections
