Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Account Assistant role based in Johor Bahru, with some flexibility for work-from-home arrangements. The Account Assistant will support daily accounting operations, including recording transactions, updating ledgers, handling petty cash, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable. The role will help monitor credit control by tracking outstanding payments, issuing reminders, and preparing basic aging reports. The Account Assistant will assist with preparing simple financial summaries, data entry into accounting systems, and organizing supporting documents for audits and reporting. The position also involves liaising with internal teams and vendors, responding to accounting-related queries, and ensuring accurate, timely documentation in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess basic accounting skills, including familiarity with Accounting principles and Finance processes.
  • Candidates should possess experience in handling Credit Control activities such as tracking outstanding invoices and supporting collection efforts.
  • Candidates should possess the ability to manage Petty Cash, including recording, reconciling, and reporting small cash expenses accurately.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and good organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and basic accounting or ERP software is an advantage.
  • Relevant education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (diploma or degree preferred, or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment.
