Job Summary
The Restaurant Manager oversees the total outlet performance of Kay's Steak & Lobster, ensuring world-class dining experiences, operational excellence, and sustainable profitability. This encompasses managing day-to-day service standards, seamless front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) coordination, driving sales and revenue growth, and cultivating a culture of excellence, teamwork, and genuine hospitality. The role demands strong leadership, keen attention to detail, and the ability to consistently deliver a premium dining experience that upholds Kay's brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supervise end-to-end restaurant operations including opening and closing procedures, reservations, and service flow.
- Enforce hygiene, Halal, and safety standards in full compliance with JAKIM and local regulatory authorities.
- Manage cash control, POS reconciliation, and daily P&L tracking.
- Coordinate inventory management and liaise with Central Kitchen and Procurement to ensure cost-efficient supply.
Customer Experience
- Uphold Kay's service philosophy — prompt, polished, and personal.
- Handle guest feedback with tact and professionalism, implementing effective service-recovery procedures.
- Monitor NPS and online review scores, and drive continuous improvement initiatives accordingly.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Recruit, train, and retain service talent aligned with Kay's culture and values.
- Conduct daily briefings, ongoing coaching sessions, and monthly performance reviews.
- Plan duty rosters and optimise manpower allocation to balance cost efficiency with service quality.
Sales & Business Performance
- Execute upselling, pairing, and promotional initiatives to elevate average check value.
- Track food and labour cost percentages and implement corrective actions to meet financial targets.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on outlet events and community partnerships.
Reporting & Compliance
- Submit weekly performance reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain comprehensive HR records covering attendance, overtime, leave, and appraisals.
- Ensure full adherence to SOPs and readiness for audits at all times.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in fine dining or premium casual dining environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems, reservation platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest-centric service.

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
