Planning and Scheduling
Developing production plans and schedules based on customer orders, project requirements, and available resources. This includes determining production capacity, allocating resources, and managing production timelines to meet delivery deadlines.
2.Resource Management
Efficiently managing and allocating resources such as machinery, equipment, materials, and manpower to optimize production output and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
3.Quality Assurance
Ensuring that all fabricated products meet the required quality standards and specifications. This involves implementing and monitoring quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions to address any quality issues. This may include SPC, MSA with Six Sigma approach.
4.Process Improvement
Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. This may involve implementing Lean Manufacturing, streamlining workflows, and reducing waste in the fabrication process.
5.Team Leadership
Leading and supervising the fabrication team, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve production targets and maintain a safe working environment. This includes promoting teamwork, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.
6.Cost Control and Budgeting: Monitoring production costs, analysing expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety. Collaborating with the finance department to develop and manage budgets for the fabrication production process.
7.Supplier and Vendor Management Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, components, and equipment. Evaluating supplier performance and maintaining good relationships with key suppliers to ensure a smooth supply chain.
8.Health and Safety Compliance Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing appropriate safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and hazards. Conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety among the fabrication team.
9.Continuous Learning and Development
Staying updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in fabrication techniques. Continuously improving knowledge and skills through training programs, industry seminars, and networking with other professionals in the field.
10.Customer Satisfaction
Collaborating with the sales and customer service teams to understand customer requirements, address any concerns or issues, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the fabrication production process. Overall, the job purpose of a fabrication production manager is to effectively manage the fabrication production process, optimize resources, ensure product quality, and meet customer expectations. They play a critical role in driving efficiency, profitability, and overall success in the fabrication industry.
Skills & Abilities
1.Solid understanding of machining processes, including CNC, turning, milling, drilling, wirecut (WEDM) and grinding.
2.Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, with experience in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidEdge, UGNX) being advantageous.
3.Familiarity with materials science and the effects of material properties on machining performance.
4.Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing systems.
5.Ability to analyze technical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.
6.Competence in using precision measurement tools and equipment.
7.Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machining issues and process inefficiencies.
8.Ability to perform data analysis to support process improvements and quality control.
9.Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
10.Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and production staff.
11.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills.
12.Experience with project planning and execution, including meeting deadlines and managing resources.
13.Commitment to learning and applying continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
14.Enthusiasm for staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in machining and manufacturing.
15.Able to implement and carry-out improvement opportunities to improve long term quality, profitability and productivity.
Education & Experience
1.Recognized degree/master in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or any related discipline.
2.Minimum 10 years of experience in a machining manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience in people management and team leadership.

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
