Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant & Finance Analyst to support financial planning, operational controlling, cost analysis, and inventory management across plantation, aquaculture, mill, and manufacturing operations. This role will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, costing activities, and business performance reporting to support management decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead annual budgeting processes for plantation, aquaculture, mill, and manufacturing operations.

  • Prepare rolling forecasts, quarterly forecasts, and cash flow projections.

  • Support the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) and CFO in monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial performance variance analysis.

  • Conduct budget vs actual cost analysis and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Prepare monthly P&L analysis for Group and business segments.

  • Prepare monthly flash reports, aging analysis, and KPI dashboards.

  • Provide quarterly IFR commentary and management reporting.

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure timely submission of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

  • Work closely with functional teams to update budget and forecast data as required.

  • Provide operational controlling support for CAPEX and OPEX activities.

Cost Accounting & Cost Control
  • Perform cost simulations for new and existing products.

  • Analyze production costs, product costing, and finished goods valuation.

  • Conduct material, labor, overhead, PPV, and production variance analysis.

  • Monitor material usage, machine efficiency, yield performance, and manufacturing cost structures.

  • Support cost reduction initiatives, process improvement, and Kaizen activities.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) costing activities.

Reporting & Month-End Closing
  • Support month-end closing activities in SAP, including cost journals and reconciliations.

  • Prepare cost center reports, production order variance reports, paper consumption reports, and PPV reports.

  • Prepare annual budgets, standard costing updates, labor hour calculations, and activity rate calculations.

  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and US SOX requirements.

Inventory Management & Internal Controls
  • Monitor inventory movements, slow-moving items, and obsolete stock provisions.

  • Prepare inventory reports and maintain accurate inventory valuation.

  • Participate in physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audit activities.

  • Maintain strong internal controls over costing and inventory processes.

  • Support internal and external audits.

Business Partnering & Systems Support
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams.

  • Provide financial insights to support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

  • Support ERP costing modules and systems such as SAP, Blackline, and Change Control Board (CCB) processes.

  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory records.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CMA are preferred or currently in progress.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in finance analysis and/or cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or plantation environment.

  • Strong experience in standard costing and variance analysis.

  • Exposure to MNC or factory-based operations is an added advantage.

  • Good understanding of manufacturing and operational cost structures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
