What You’ll Be Doing

As a Science HOD, you will:

• Lead academic development by ensuring teaching staff effectively adopt the curriculum framework to maintain high teaching quality
• Design curriculum and assessments to develop innovative educational programs and teaching methodologies that meet student needs
• Conduct regular curriculum reviews and evaluations, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement
• Plan workforce needs by identifying manpower capabilities and coordinating staffing requirements
• Foster a high-performance, energetic learning atmosphere by motivating and leading the teaching team
• Collaborate with the training team to conduct classroom observations and provide targeted coaching to improve teaching standards
• Work with the administrative team to manage staff schedules, allocate resources for classes, and arrange coverage for staff absences
• Conduct engaging Primary Science lessons using our structured curriculum and teaching framework
• Provide regular verbal and written feedback to parents on student learning and progress
• Attend team meetings and teacher development sessions

Enjoy teaching Primary Science

Are patient, energetic, and confident working with children

Have strong mastery of the Singapore Primary Science syllabus

Can explain concepts clearly and adapt to different student abilities

Are structured, dependable, and a strong team player

Care about helping students build confidence — not just grades

Preferred qualifications and competencies:

• Degree or Master’s Degree in Science or relevant educational fields

• Minimum 5 years of experience in education

• Good understanding of the educational sector and familiarity with the MOE Primary Science Syllabus

• Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

Work Schedule & Expectations

Full-Time Position

·     5-day work week

Teaching Workload

·     Up to 8 classes per week

·     Small class size of max 6 students
