As we continue to grow our presence in the Klang Valley market, we are looking for a motivated and proactive Business Development Executive to join our team and support our expansion into new project opportunities.
JOB FAMILY SUMMARY
The Business Development function at Mosaic Expert is responsible for identifying new project opportunities, developing client relationships and strengthening the company’s presence within the building, construction, architecture, interior design, swimming pool and landscape sectors.
This role plays an important part in connecting Mosaic Expert with the right decision-makers in the market, including architects, interior designers, pool specialists, contractors, consultants, developers and project owners. The team is expected to actively prospect, present, follow up, and convert opportunities into meaningful project discussions and business outcomes.
JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for developing new business opportunities for Mosaic Expert within Klang Valley.
This is a field-driven role that requires the candidate to actively reach out to potential clients, conduct cold calls, schedule appointments, attend meetings, present company products, visit exhibitions or trade shows, research new project opportunities, and maintain regular follow-up with industry stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is proactive, confident in communication, disciplined in follow-up, and comfortable building long-term professional relationships within the building and design industry.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communication, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or any related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in business development, sales, project sales, client servicing, building materials, tiles, interior design, architecture, construction, swimming pool, landscape or property-related industries will be an added advantage.
- Highly motivated fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, especially candidates who are confident in communication, willing to learn and interested in building a career within the building materials and project sales industry.
- Able to communicate professionally with architects, interior designers, contractors, pool specialists, developers, project owners and other industry stakeholders.
- Comfortable with prospecting, cold calling, appointment setting, client meetings and face-to-face product presentations.
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Able to work independently, manage daily sales activities, follow up with prospects and take ownership of assigned business development targets.
- Able to work as part of a team, especially when coordinating with internal staff on samples, product information, quotations, client requirements and project updates.
- Professional attitude with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Self-motivated, proactive and disciplined in managing appointments, client follow-ups, project leads and weekly reporting.
- Possess a valid driving license and own transportation.
- Willing to travel within Klang Valley for client meetings, site visits, exhibitions, trade shows and project discussions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect for new project opportunities by reaching out to architects, interior designers, pool specialists, contractors, consultants, developers, landscape professionals and project owners.
- Aggressively conduct cold calls, direct outreach and appointment setting with new prospective clients for company introductions and product presentations.
- Research and identify new project opportunities within Klang Valley, including residential developments, commercial projects, swimming pool projects, landscape works, hospitality spaces, renovation projects and interior design developments.
- Specify and promote Mosaic Expert’s products within relevant projects by introducing suitable mosaic, porcelain tile, landscaping tile and surface covering solutions based on project requirements.
- Present the company’s product range professionally to prospective clients and project stakeholders, including product features, design applications, usage areas and suitability for different project types.
- Support the product specification process by helping clients understand product suitability, design direction, surface usage, project fit and potential installation requirements.
- Visit exhibitions, trade shows, industry events and networking sessions to approach new prospective clients, build market visibility and strengthen Mosaic Expert’s industry presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the building and design industry, including architects, interior designers, pool specialists, contractors, developers and project consultants.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and project leads to move opportunities from introduction stage to meeting, quotation, proposal, specification and project confirmation.
- Coordinate with internal teams for product samples, catalogues, technical details, quotations, proposal support and client-specific requirements.
- Maintain proper records of client communication, meeting outcomes, project opportunities, quotation status and follow-up progress.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports on business development activities, new project leads, client meetings, follow-up status, market feedback and potential project value.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, new developments and customer needs within the building materials, mosaic, tile, swimming pool, construction and interior design sectors.
- Represent Mosaic Expert professionally in all client-facing interactions and support the company’s positioning as a trusted partner in the building and design industry.
