Job purpose:

The Business Development Engineer / Manager is responsible for driving Design‑In, Design‑Win, and long‑term project conversion of Phoenix Contact solutions across Southeast Asia.

This role focuses on early‑stage engagement with customers, OEMs, EMS, consultants, and internal sales teams to ensure Phoenix Contact products are specified, designed‑in, and successfully converted into mass production.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage Design‑In activities across assigned SEA markets, from early concept and design stage through Design‑Win and mass production.
• Engage customers early in the product design and development lifecycle to influence technical specifications in favour of Phoenix Contact solutions.
• Identify, qualify, and track Design‑In / Design‑Win projects, ensuring clear project funnel visibility and conversion plans.
• Work closely with customers to understand application requirements, system architecture, and design constraints, and translate these into optimized connector solutions.
• Develop and execute business development strategies for Phoenix Contact portfolios aligned with SEA growth objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities, key accounts, and target segments where Design‑In activities can drive sustainable revenue growth.
• Foster and maintain senior‑level customer relationships to secure long‑term partnerships and repeat Design‑In opportunities.
• Provide regular updates on project pipeline, market trends, and competitive landscape to regional management.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution workshops to customers, consultants, and partners.
• Support evaluation, sampling, testing, and validation activities to ensure successful adoption of Phoenix Contact Device Connector solutions.
• Maintain strong technical and application knowledge of Phoenix Contact products and related standards.
• Work closely with Sales, Product Marketing and Application Engineering teams to align Design‑In activities with go‑to‑market strategies.
• Provide structured feedback to Product Marketing on market needs, customer requirements, competitive products, and design trends to support portfolio development.
• Support marketing initiatives such as seminars, webinars, trade shows, and customer events where Design‑In engagement is critical.
• Track and report Design‑In, Design‑Win, and mass production conversion status in a structured and consistent manner.
• Ensure Design‑In activities comply with internal processes, pricing strategies, and commercial guidelines.
• Continuously improve Design‑In processes and collaboration models across SEA to increase effectiveness and scalability.

Requirements:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in business development, technical sales, product marketing, or application engineering, preferably in industrial components or connectors.
• Proven exposure to Design‑In / Design‑Win driven business models is strongly preferred.
• Strong technical and application understanding of electrical / electronic components and system‑level solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a regional, matrix environment with frequent cross‑country collaboration.
• Customer‑driven, results‑oriented, and proactive in identifying and driving new opportunities.
• Comfortable with regional travel within Southeast Asia.
