Job Description

  • Negotiate prices, commercial terms, and supply arrangements with suppliers for the procurement of materials.

  • Ensure all materials purchased comply with the required specifications, quality standards, and requirements as stated in the Purchase Order and relevant project documents.

  • Identify, source, and propose new suppliers for evaluation and shortlisting.

  • Monitor suppliers’ delivery schedules and ensure materials are delivered in accordance with the agreed specifications, quantities, prices, and timelines.

  • Prepare, issue, and manage Purchase Orders and related procurement correspondence.

  • Follow up and coordinate with internal users and suppliers on material-related complaints, discrepancies, and quality issues.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and maintain records of suppliers’ delivery performance, service quality, and overall reliability.

  • Prepare variation order documentation, compilation, and costing for procurement-related matters where required.

  • Conduct periodic price reviews and market checks for purchased goods to ensure cost competitiveness and value for money.

  • Liaise closely with project sites and relevant departments to ensure all material deliveries are properly coordinated and in order.

  • Generate, compile, and maintain procurement and administrative documents for operational and reporting purposes.

  • Ensure procurement activities are carried out in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and internal control requirements.

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Immediate Superior or Management from time to time.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or any related discipline.

  • Experience in purchasing construction materials will be an added advantage.

  • Preferably at least five (5) years of relevant working experience in procurement or purchasing functions.

  • Experience in the construction industry.

  • Experience in SQL is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

  • Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.

  • Strong negotiation, coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, pricing comparison, and material sourcing.

  • Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform under tight timelines.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges and continuous learning.
