Job Summary

The Construction Planner will develop, maintain, and optimize the master execution

schedule for complex mining infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects.

Leveraging a strong engineering and construction background, the candidate will ensure that

construction and commissioning works (mass concrete pours, site clearing, structural steel

erection) are seamlessly integrated with the broader mining operational schedules.

The role demands precise monitoring of timelines to ensure projects achieve their

Completion and Compliance efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Master Work Programme Development: Create comprehensive, logic-linked baseline schedules (Levels 1–5) on CPM (Critical Path Method) using Primavera P6, covering design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases (EPCC).
• Construction Sequencing: Apply deep knowledge of heavy civil and industrial building sequences to optimize the deployment of labor, machinery, and concrete/steel resources across remote construction sites.
• Progress Monitoring & EVM: Conduct weekly on-site physical tracking, generate S-curves, and utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to analyze actual progress against targets.
• Extension of Time (EOT) & Delay Analysis: Conduct Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to identify critical path delays, preparing robust documentation for EOT claims in alignment with contract terms.
• Inter-departmental Coordination: Liaise closely with project managers, the QS department, and mine operations to coordinate schedules and manage logistical bottlenecks.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related

field.

Experience: Minimum 4–5 years as a Project Planner/Scheduler in heavy infrastructure,

construction, or heavy industrial fields.

Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project/ PMP.

Experience with BIM or 4D scheduling tools is a plus.

Key Competencies: Strong command of construction methodology, resource loading,

and site productivity factors. Excellent reporting skills tailored for corporate management

and stakeholders.
