Job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Lift and Escalator Technician to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and safety inspections of various vertical transportation systems, including passenger lifts, freight elevators, escalators, and travelators. ​The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety regulations, and the ability to work effectively on-site to minimize equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• ​Carry out routine preventive maintenance (PPM) on lifts, escalators, and travelators according to schedule and safety standards.
• ​Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently (including controllers, wiring diagrams, drive systems, and hoisting mechanisms).
• ​Respond promptly to emergency breakdown calls and perform rescue operations if required.
• ​Replace worn-out components and test systems to ensure they meet strict safety and operational regulations.
• ​Interpret technical blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams during troubleshooting.
• ​Complete daily service reports, logbooks, and maintenance documentation accurately.
• ​Maintain a high standard of safety on-site, utilizing proper PPE and following JKKP / DOSH guidelines.

Requirements & Qualifications

• ​Education: Minimum of SPM, SKM (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia), Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
• ​Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience in lift/escalator maintenance and troubleshooting (experience with major controller brands is a strong advantage).
• ​Skills: Strong understanding of electrical circuits, control panels, wiring diagrams, and mechanical operations.
• ​License: Possess a valid driving license (D or B2) and own transport to travel between job sites.
• ​Attributes: Ready to handle on-call/standby rotation for breakdowns, a strong team player, and highly safety-conscious.
