VISA OFFICER

Job Scope
- Visa Application Processing:
- Guide prospective international students through the visa application process.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of necessary documents.
- Ensure all visa applications are complete and comply with the relevant immigration laws and regulations.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all visa applications and correspondence.
- Manage the storage and retrieval of immigration documents.
- Advisory and Support:
- Provide advice and support to students and their families regarding visa matters.
- Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and staff about visa requirements, processes, and issues.
- Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensure the school’s compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in immigration policies and procedures.
- Communicate with relevant immigration authorities and organizations.
- Coordination with Departments:
- Collaborate with admissions, student services, and other departments to ensure a smooth transition for international students.
- Coordinate with the school’s legal advisors on complex visa issues.
- Crisis Management:
- Assist students in dealing with visa-related emergencies and issues.
- Provide support during audits or inspections by immigration authorities.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as international relations, education, law, or public administration.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in immigration services, student services, or a related field.
- Experience in an educational setting is often preferred such as SIS, SMIPS, Database Record, Student File, MOE, Visa Documents and Procedure
- Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of visa regulations and immigration laws.
- Familiarity with the specific visa requirements for students in the country where the school is located.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex cases.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience with immigration software or databases is a plus.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English is typically required.
- Proficiency in other languages may be beneficial, depending on the student demographic.
