The Programme Manager will work closely with the Head of Department (HOD) to lead and manage a portfolio of local and international programmes from planning through to delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring programmes are executed effectively, achieve measurable impact, and align with the organisation’s mission and strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate is highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This role also requires strong stakeholder management skills, team leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive programmes from strategy to execution.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management & Delivery

• Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of multiple programmes across different countries and focus areas.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and reporting frameworks to ensure smooth programme execution.
• Ensure programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with intended outcomes and impact goals.
• Support the HOD in identifying strategic opportunities, partnerships, and programme improvements.
• Oversee the execution of events, workshops, campaigns, and community engagement initiatives.

Stakeholder & Partnership Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with NGOs, government agencies, educational institutions, community partners, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with partners to ensure alignment on programme goals, deliverables, and timelines.
• Represent the organisation in meetings, discussions, and external engagements where required.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Work closely with internal teams to track programme performance, outcomes, and impact.
• Analyse programme data and insights to identify improvements and support decision-making.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for management and stakeholders.

Financial & Operational Oversight

• Manage programme budgets and monitor spending to ensure effective use of resources.
• Track project expenses, manage budget variances, and support financial reporting processes.
• Ensure programmes comply with internal governance, audit, and due diligence requirements.

Team Leadership

• Lead and support programme staff to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of work.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to team members.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-driven team culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in programme or project management within the non-profit, CSR, sustainability, or social impact sector.
• At least 3 years of experience managing regional or international programmes, partnerships, or stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
• Strong project management, planning, and organisational skills.
• Experience managing budgets, reporting, and programme operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage across different sectors and cultures.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.
