About the role

Glory Education & Training Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School English Teacher to join our secondary education team. This is a full-time position based in our Cheras, Kuala Lumpur campus. As a High School English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in developing students' language skills, critical thinking abilities, and appreciation for literature. This position is essential to our mission of providing high-quality secondary education and preparing students for academic success and lifelong learning. You will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the curriculum and educational standards for secondary-level students
• Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback to support their development
• Create comprehensive lesson plans incorporating reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Facilitate discussions on literature, grammar, composition, and communication techniques
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behaviour
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop departmental policies, schemes of work, and best practices
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events
• Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages academic excellence and personal growth

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in English, English Literature, English Education, or a related discipline
• Teaching qualification or professional teaching credentials (such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching English at secondary level
• Strong subject matter expertise with in-depth knowledge of English language, literature, and composition
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
• Proficiency in curriculum design and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different student needs
• Competence in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple classes and administrative tasks effectively
• Commitment to student welfare, safeguarding, and the creation of an inclusive learning environment
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst maintaining professional standards
• Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
